The client is seeking a strategic, creative, and energetic Chief Executive Officer to lead its mission advancing social and emotional learning (SEL) in Pre-K through Grade 12 education. Founded decades ago, the client brings together a multidisciplinary network of researchers, practitioners, and policy experts committed to strengthening SEL through research, resources, and initiatives. The CEO will provide executive leadership to support the client’s role in conducting, commissioning, and synthesizing evidence to inform systemic implementation of high-quality, evidence-based SEL, and in shaping practices and policies at the state and federal levels.
The CEO will serve as the expert voice in vetting high-quality SEL programs, practices, and research, and will advocate for SEL as a fundamental tenet of education. As the education and philanthropic landscape evolves, the CEO is expected to guide the organization through strategic leadership, sustain its preeminent position and authoritative voice in the field, and pursue new growth opportunities. The role includes implementing and further evolving a newly defined strategic vision and fostering a collaborative, entrepreneurial, and supportive work culture.
The client will recruit for the position through an external executive search process, and all applications, inquiries, and nominations are handled confidentially. The successful candidate will be an experienced executive leader capable of combining strategic planning with creative, mission-driven advocacy, and of aligning research and practice to drive organizational impact in SEL.
