The client is seeking a mission-anchored, people-centered, growth-oriented, and community-minded leader to serve as its next Chief Executive Officer. This role will provide leadership at a time when the organization’s work has never been more necessary, inheriting a stable organization, experienced team, strong culture, deep community relationships, and significant credibility. The CEO is expected to earn trust, understand what makes the organization effective, and guide continued evolution with fresh perspective, sound judgment, and a clear vision focused on measurable growth and greater impact.
Reporting to The client’s Board of Directors and leading an executive leadership team, the CEO will be based in Charlotte and is expected to maintain a visible, consistent presence with staff, customers, donors, public officials, and community partners. The organization’s mission is to provide assistance and advocacy for people in financial crisis, helping them move toward self-sufficiency. The CEO will help balance immediate crisis response with prevention, financial empowerment, and systems-level work, while using customer experience, program outcomes, community data, and staff expertise to determine what should be preserved, improved, piloted, expanded, or stopped.
The CEO will lead an inclusive planning process to define the organization’s five-year direction, establish measurable priorities, and create accountability, setting and achieving ambitious growth goals for public and private funding while protecting staff well-being, operational effectiveness, and customer dignity. The role will also include personally leading high-level relationships, visibility, storytelling, and fundraising asks that cannot be delegated, cultivating durable relationships with individual donors, foundations, corporations, faith communities, and public funders. In addition, the CEO will ensure disciplined financial management, risk oversight, resource allocation, and transparent stewardship to support increased housing stability for low-income residents.
