The client seeks a Chief Distribution Officer to lead, grow, and optimize the insurance agency distribution network. Reporting to C-level leadership, this role is responsible for setting and executing nationwide agency strategy, improving sales performance, driving agent recruitment, building capabilities, and enhancing channel productivity. The Chief Distribution Officer will ensure agency operations align with strategic goals, sales targets, compliance standards, and customer-centric values.
Key responsibilities include developing a comprehensive distribution strategy for growth, productivity, and long-term sustainability; creating scalable frameworks for agent recruitment, onboarding, licensing, and career progression; and identifying market expansion opportunities. The role also delivers national sales performance using targets, performance dashboards, and incentive structures; leads and motivates agency sales teams to improve conversion, activity, and persistency; coordinates cross-functional campaigns with Sales, Product, Underwriting, and Marketing; and monitors KPI performance across the agency channel. In addition, it oversees agency operations such as field support, branch operations, tools, CRM, and digital platforms, while ensuring a seamless agent experience through process simplification and efficient sales support.
The Chief Distribution Officer will strengthen agent and agency leadership capabilities through training, coaching, certification, and digital learning, fostering a high-performance, ethical, customer-first culture. This includes ensuring adherence to insurance regulatory requirements and company policies, strengthening sales compliance and anti-mis-selling practices, and coordinating with Legal, Compliance, and Audit teams to mitigate channel risks. The client expects a highly energetic leader with strong insurance-sector knowledge of distribution dynamics, agent behavior, regulatory frameworks, and competitive landscape, along with proven leadership, communication, stakeholder-management, and data-driven abilities; relevant experience in insurance distribution, agency management, or related sales leadership is also expected.
