The client is seeking a Chief Development Officer to lead the strategic planning, management, and success of comprehensive fundraising efforts that support the organization’s long-term financial health. This executive role oversees policy, strategy, and execution for the Development Department, including individual and planned giving, corporate, foundation, and government support, membership, giving appeals, special events, and donor relations. The Chief Development Officer will report to the President and Executive Director, providing expert guidance on fundraising policy, changes, and new program directions, and will manage all future fundraising campaigns.
The Chief Development Officer will partner closely with the Development Committee and Board of Trustees to strengthen The client’s visibility, impact, and financial resources. The role also serves as a champion for The client and a catalyst for building a strong culture of philanthropy, acting as an active participant on the leadership team while contributing to the organization’s comprehensive strategic and fundraising plan to be developed in partnership with the President and Board over the coming year. The position provides strategic leadership for the Development Department’s annual operating budget and oversees a team of seven staff members.
As The client continues to build and professionalize its development program, the Chief Development Officer is expected to help shape the program’s strategy, systems, and team early in its growth. The work will support formal fundraising development alongside the organization’s ongoing evolution, including future campaigns and long-term relationship building. The Chief Development Officer will be positioned to guide a more comprehensive, professional development effort aligned with the scale and stature of The client’s collection, scholarship, and artistic community.
