As Chief Design Officer, you will join the client’s executive leadership team in Cyprus and lead the organization’s Design Studio. This senior design role will guide the strategic direction of architectural, interior design, technical, and development projects, helping shape the group’s design identity and support premium guest experiences through quality and innovation. You will contribute to strategic decision-making that supports continued expansion and operational success across the organization.
Key responsibilities include leading internal and external multidisciplinary design teams and developing, implementing, and safeguarding group-wide design and technical specification standards across architectural, interior design, FF&E, and related technical disciplines. You will oversee hotel development, refurbishment, remodelling, and technical advisory projects, coordinating design processes spanning engineering and specialist areas through to construction documentation. The role also includes managing permitting, statutory compliance, technical approvals, and regulatory requirements, while driving innovative, sustainable, and operationally effective design solutions aligned with brand standards and commercial objectives.
You will lead the preparation and implementation of technical specifications, construction methodologies, and project documentation, and provide technical expertise for feasibility studies, land planning, and hotel development opportunities to support operational functionality. The role requires strong leadership in managing consultants, technical advisors, resources, budgets, timelines, and delivery milestones, as well as supporting procurement for construction materials and FF&E/décor specifications. The ideal candidate will have a Master of Architecture (M.Arch.) or related discipline and at least seven years’ experience in a senior leadership role, with proven experience managing complex, large-scale projects in hospitality design or property development; experience in hospitality or luxury projects is typically viewed as an advantage.
