Description

The Senior Vice President (SVP) will have a significant role in overseeing curatorial, conservation, exhibition, and extensive collections responsibilities for two museums, 15 historic sites, and a large number of antiques and works of art across a 301-acre historic area. They will be a key member of the senior leadership team, providing intellectual agility and thought leadership that goes beyond their core discipline, fostering interdisciplinary dialogue and contributing to broader institutional and cultural conversations. The SVP will work closely with leadership in historic preservation and education to ensure that the museums' offerings are optimized, relevant, inclusive, and engaging to diverse audiences of all ages and demographics.This executive will be responsible for overseeing various departments including Curatorial Operations, Conservation, Historic Interiors, Art Museum Operations, Exhibition Design and Production, Educational Conferences, and Libraries, managing a team of nearly 150 professionals. The SVP will be expected to create an empathetic, supportive, and inclusive environment for both staff and visitors, reflecting the organization's commitment to sharing the complete and fact-based history of early America and enabling a broad audience to connect to the past without barriers. It is essential for the success of the organization that there is a commitment throughout the team to this mission.
