The Chief Community Engagement Officer will report directly to President Ora Hirsch Pescovitz and will be a key member of the Presidents Cabinet. The CCEO will be responsible for coordinating, inspiring, and advancing efforts to position Oakland University as an institution that works closely with community partners. Starting in Summer 2026, the CCEO will provide leadership and supervision of community engagement in alignment with the Universitys mission and strategic vision. This role will involve coordinating engagement efforts across campus, strengthening collaboration with University offices and Senate committees, and implementing strategies to elevate community partnerships and expand the community engagement enterprise, including fundraising.The CCEO will work closely with campus units to integrate engagement activities, support professional development in community-based research, cultivate strong relationships with local communities, and represent the University publicly. Additionally, the CCEO will help ensure that university policies, procedures, communications, and culture consistently reflect and advance community engagement goals and priorities. This position will play a vital role in driving the Universitys community engagement initiatives forward and will be instrumental in enhancing the Universitys reputation as a collaborative and community-focused institution.
