Description

The client seeks a Chief Communications Officer to lead organizational, consumer, and clinical/provider engagement and communications across an integrated healthcare system. This senior leader will help ensure the organization’s story and mission are reflected in both internal and external communications, supporting aspirational goals related to quality, customer experience, financial performance, growth, employer standing, and community well-being. The role is expected to position the organization as a top-tier performer at state and national levels through communications and engagement strategies.

The Chief Communications Officer will partner to identify and implement organizational-focused communication and branding strategy that moves audiences—from awareness to active patients and brand ambassadors—among consumers, team members, clinical staff, providers, caregivers, and affiliates. The Chief will collaborate with executives to develop strategies that strengthen the provider and employer of choice brand, using multi-modal communication approaches. The role will also build programs to deliver and communicate the organization’s differentiated value, leading communications and clinical/provider engagement from an integrated perspective.

This leader will work through matrixed, cross-functional teams and will typically be expected to coordinate expertise spanning marketing, branding, public relations, digital platform management, internal communications, provider communications, patient and family outreach, and community presence. Key focus areas include creating a contemporary, sophisticated, adaptable, and genuine strategy while ensuring consistent messaging and a positive experience across locations. Qualifications include a master’s degree in health or hospital administration, business administration, or a related field (including a medical degree) and extensive senior executive experience in healthcare or health services; governance experience is expected as part of leadership readiness.
