The Chief Communications and Engagement Officer will be a key member of the Leadership Team at the Bioeconomy Science Institute, responsible for shaping the strategic narrative and enhancing the national and global presence of the organization. This role will involve leading the Communications and Government relations functions, ensuring consistent and compelling messaging that aligns with the Institute's mission. The successful candidate will be tasked with building and motivating a high-performing team, cultivating relationships with key stakeholders, and representing the Institute in various forums with credibility and influence.In addition, the Chief Communications and Engagement Officer will work closely with the Chief Executive to develop and implement strategic initiatives, drive measurable outcomes, and effectively manage resources to support growth and long-term success. This role will require the ability to build trust-based relationships with the Board, government officials, iwi organizations, and sector bodies, while also championing the Institute's voice and presence on a national and international level. The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker, a strong communicator, and a collaborative leader who can inspire their team to deliver lasting impact for the Institute.
