Description

A senior leadership role responsible for shaping and advancing the artistic and curatorial vision of the client. Working closely with the Executive Director and the Leadership Team, this position sets strategic priorities for permanent installations, loan and temporary exhibitions, and interpretive programming, aligning collections work with the client’s mission to educate, engage, and create welcoming, accessible visitor experiences.

As the collections and curatorial affairs leader, you will oversee development and management of a sustainable, dynamic rolling 3–5 year exhibition and installation calendar that highlights the client’s collections and deepens engagement with contemporary audiences and community voices across the region. The role emphasizes meaningful interpretation, inclusive community engagement, and innovative uses of technology to enhance relevance and the overall visitor experience.

You will lead a multidisciplinary team across curatorial, conservation, collections care, registrarial, exhibition and installation, and publication and digital production functions, fostering collaboration and cross-departmental alignment. In partnership with operational leadership, you will help guide facilities projects that impact the care and display of the collection, support fundraising efforts in coordination with development leadership, and represent the client locally and globally through scholarly discourse, arts community engagement, and board or committee participation, including serving as the primary liaison to the Collections Committee.
