Description

The client is seeking a Chief Business Development Officer (CBDO) to research, evaluate, obtain, and develop new, continuing, and expanded business opportunities. Reporting to the President and CEO, the role will lead business proposal development, including responses to business solicitations, and will oversee contract development and negotiations with payors, including government entities and commercial insurers and health plans. The CBDO will also represent The client and its programs and services to state, county, and local governments, elected officials, community-based organizations, advocacy groups, and provider associations.

As a corporate officer and Vice President, the CBDO participates with other corporate officers in the overall guidance and management of the company, and may be eligible for appointment to The client’s Board of Directors. The position will oversee designated business operations, including business related to training and clinical practices support, and will participate in a practitioner network that contracts with managed care plans to provide services. The role is expected to support continued growth across the organization’s programs and service lines.

Qualifications include at least five years of experience as a health, mental health, or social services manager, along with experience planning, developing, contracting, marketing, and providing behavioral healthcare and/or other social services. The CBDO should demonstrate knowledge of behavioral health, child welfare, and related social services program business operations, including the ability to develop and evaluate business strategies, perform financial analysis, and create and evaluate contract content. Familiarity with government operations, policy, funding, and contracting for public services systems is required, and strong communication and negotiation skills are expected. A Master’s degree in a relevant field is required.
