The client seeks a Chief Advancement Officer (CAO) to help shape the next chapter of advancement for a mission-driven boarding and day school community. Reporting to the Head of School, the CAO will strengthen a culture of philanthropy, enhance community engagement, and balance innovation with tradition as the organization prepares for its next comprehensive campaign and continued transformational impact.
The CAO will lead advancement strategy and execution, including building relational approaches to fundraising and partnering with internal stakeholders to support the organization’s philanthropic goals. This role is expected to prepare for the next campaign by reinforcing advancement effectiveness and supporting a clear, cohesive direction for future growth.
Candidates should have at least 10 years of advancement experience, preferably in a school or higher education context, and demonstrated leadership or major involvement in a successful comprehensive campaign. Exposure to a broad array of advancement functions is ideal, along with the ability to bring vision, creativity, and strong relational leadership to a values-driven educational environment.
