the client is seeking a Lead professional to oversee the Group’s general accounting function and ensure rigorous, accurate, and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual closes. This role will define, implement, and oversee accounting policies in line with Spanish GAAP and applicable international frameworks, and will oversee the preparation of standalone and consolidated financial statements to ensure consistency and technical robustness. The position is responsible for the quality of financial reporting for senior management, the audit committee, and investors, serving as the primary point of contact for both external and internal auditors and coordinating audits with a strong technical approach.
The Lead will actively support financial and accounting due diligence, manage accounting impacts from corporate transactions such as M&A, restructurings, and corporate changes, and analyze new accounting regulations to drive their proper implementation across the Group. The role will optimize accounting processes, internal controls, and financial systems, with particular focus on Oracle and/or NetSuite. It will also lead, manage, and develop part of the current accounting team, with collaboration across Finance, Tax, Legal, Treasury, and Compliance, working directly and continuously with the CFO in a demanding, highly technical environment.
Required qualifications include a university degree in Business Administration, Economics, Finance, or a related field, and between ten and fifteen years of experience in accounting roles with mandatory background in the technology sector. The role requires strong, up-to-date knowledge of Spanish accounting and tax regulations, proven experience in financial consolidation and international accounting standards, and a track record of involvement in creating, structuring, or transforming accounting processes in high-growth (“build-up”) environments. Hands-on experience with Oracle and/or NetSuite is essential, along with prior experience leading accounting teams and full professional fluency in Spanish and English (written and spoken), demonstrated technical rigor, execution-driven mindset, strong leadership, sound judgment, proactive change management, and high professional ethics and responsibility.
