Description

The client is seeking an experienced Chief Accountant to join its established finance team within a marine and energy services environment. This role will suit an accounting professional who can take the next step in a structured and growing finance function, supporting senior management while helping oversee day-to-day accounting operations and team performance.

Key responsibilities include preparing and reviewing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with IFRS and applicable accounting standards, and overseeing daily accounting operations across the general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll coordination, and tax compliance. The Chief Accountant will ensure compliance with financial regulations, internal policies, and reporting requirements; develop and maintain internal controls; assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis; and coordinate internal and external audits, including preparation of audit schedules and responding to auditor requests.

ACCA/ACA qualification or active progression is an advantage, along with experience supervising or mentoring, hands-on knowledge of reconciliations and audit processes, advanced Microsoft Excel skills, strong organisational attention to detail, effective communication with internal stakeholders and external auditors, and proficiency in English.
