Description

the client is seeking a Chief, Pediatric Nephrology physician leader to provide strategic direction and oversee the clinical, educational, and research missions of the pediatric nephrology division. the role emphasizes committed clinical leadership with a strong background in pediatric nephrology, as well as experience in healthcare management, medical education, and research. the chief will also serve as an academic leader within an affiliated teaching environment.

Key responsibilities include setting a strategic vision for the division and ensuring alignment with organizational mission and values; overseeing delivery of comprehensive, compassionate, high-quality pediatric nephrology care; and serving as a clinical resource to promote evidence-based practice. the chief will lead initiatives to enhance access, improve quality, and implement innovative care models, while also championing patient safety and quality improvement and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards. the role includes fostering a research-friendly environment and providing resources and mentorship to support scholarly activities.

In addition, the chief will oversee educational and mentorship programs for fellows, residents, and medical students, and mentor junior faculty to support professional development and academic growth. administrative oversight will include managing division resources such as personnel, budget, and facilities, and supporting strategies for growth, recruitment, and retention. qualifications include board certification in pediatrics and pediatric nephrology, proven leadership experience in pediatric healthcare, strong communication and organizational skills, and a commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion in healthcare; the chief is expected to have sufficient academic credentials to be appointed at the associate professor level of pediatrics or higher.
