Gunpowder Mills is undergoing a significant transformation with the appointment of a new CEO and the launch of a new brand and long-term strategy. Our client is seeking a Chair of Trustees to provide strategic leadership to the Board and work closely with the CEO to ensure the financial sustainability of the organization. The Chair will oversee heritage conservation, capital projects, and commercial initiatives while ensuring robust governance, financial oversight, and risk management as the organization evolves into a multi-use site by 2031. Additionally, the incoming Chair will act as a visible advocate for Gunpowder Mills, representing the organization locally and nationally and championing its heritage to broaden audiences, particularly among schools and learning partners.The ideal candidate for the Chair of Trustees position will have experience in strategic leadership and a strong understanding of governance, financial management, and risk assessment. They will work closely with the CEO to deliver a long-term vision that secures the financial future of Gunpowder Mills and safeguards its endowment and charitable assets. The incoming Chair will lead the Board in overseeing a complex program of heritage conservation, capital projects, and commercial initiatives, ensuring the organization's continued success as it transitions into a self-sustaining, mixed-use estate. They will also play a key role in advocating for Gunpowder Mills, representing the organization and championing its heritage to a wider audience.
