The Chair of the Board is responsible for providing strategic leadership and ensuring the overall effectiveness of the Board. This includes maintaining robust governance, balancing operational oversight with long-term planning, shaping the agenda and annual calendar, and ensuring timely and high-quality information for decision-making. The Chair works closely with the Master to build a cohesive and high-performing governing body, provide support and constructive challenge to senior leadership, and represent the College externally by supporting fundraising, donor engagement, and upholding safeguarding and charity trustee responsibilities.Our client is seeking a Chair who can be an active and credible presence, serving as an ambassador with the personal authority to lead a strong board, promote openness and debate, and foster constructive relationships across governors and senior management. The ideal candidate will have the ability to chair meetings effectively, provide support and challenge to senior leadership, and represent the College in a positive and professional manner. The Chair will play a key role in shaping the future direction of the College, ensuring that it continues to thrive and fulfill its mission of providing high-quality education to its students.
