the client is seeking an accomplished, collaborative academic physician leader and educator to serve as Chair of the Department of Radiology. The Chair will help advance the department across clinical, education, research, and outreach missions, broaden impact on community health, and further strengthen national and international education and research influence. The role reports to the Dean of the College of Medicine and will lead, build, and sustain a strong academic department.
responsible for radiology services at the health system level, the Chair will ensure effective, efficient clinical operations in partnership with the Chief Clinical Officer across tertiary hospitals, community-based facilities, ancillary sites, and a clinically integrated network. The Chair will balance academic rigor, clinical quality, operational experience, and system-wide alignment while overseeing a complex, multi-site, busy clinical department.
the successful candidate is expected to be a nationally recognized physician leader and scholar in radiology with a proven commitment to research and innovation, clinical care, medical education and training, and community engagement. The role requires the ability to inspire, mentor, and lead physicians, researchers, and educators, with an emphasis on diversity and belonging, quality, financial sustainability, and faculty, staff, and trainee wellness. The Chair should have leadership experience partnering with stakeholders at all levels and demonstrate an understanding of sponsored research, with an aim to expand the department’s research portfolio.
