the client invites applications for a collaborative and visionary leader to serve as the next Chair of the Department of Neurology. The department is distinguished in neuroscience research and is home to clinicians and physician-scientists whose work spans areas including Alzheimer’s disease, neuroimaging, biomarker science, headache medicine, and more. The chair will advance the department’s clinical, research, and educational missions, helping position neurology as a central driver of the broader neurosciences enterprise.
Joining the client during a period of sustained institutional momentum, the chair will lead faculty and staff within a rich neurosciences environment that includes major research institutes and close collaborative relationships with clinical partners such as neurosurgery and psychiatry. The role is expected to help expand clinical volume and operational scale across affiliated hospital and outpatient sites, strengthen clinical trials infrastructure and translational efforts, and support the development of innovative educational initiatives, including training program expansion at the institutional level.
The successful candidate will be an accomplished physician-scientist with a demonstrated record of clinical excellence, research leadership, and organizational ability to build and sustain high-performing teams. Requirements include an MD or MD/PhD and board certification in neurology, with a record commensurate with appointment at the rank of Professor. The chair will define and execute a strategic direction for a distinct national departmental identity, recruit and retain outstanding faculty and staff, unite and collaborate across the neurosciences, and cultivate financial strength and philanthropy through trusted relationships.
