The Chair will set the strategic vision for the Department of Surgery and guide its next era of clinical strength, educational excellence, and research progress. Responsibilities include strengthening alignment across partner institutions, expanding research capacity, building key programs and service lines, enhancing patient access and market presence, and elevating the department’s role as a destination for surgical care and training.
The successful candidate will be a surgeon leader with vision, operational acumen, and a collaborative spirit, with the mandate and platform to unify and modernize the department. The department includes major surgical divisions and supports education and training for medical students and residents and fellows through an affiliated clinical network; the Chair is expected to work closely with faculty and stakeholders to advance the department’s mission.
