The Chairperson of the client is responsible for leading the Board of Directors in setting and implementing the organization's direction and strategy. This role involves promoting effective communication between the Board and Executive, upholding integrity and probity, and ensuring the highest standards of Corporate Governance. The Chairperson will establish a close relationship of trust with the Director, provide coherent leadership, and represent the client to funders and stakeholders.
Candidates for the Chairperson position at the client should have a strong understanding of the visual arts and/or arts and culture landscape in Ireland. They should also possess commercial/corporate acumen, strategic planning and delivery skills, and leadership experience as a CEO, Board director, or Chair. Additionally, individuals with backgrounds in Governance, Legal, HR, Legislative or Public Affairs, Communications, Marketing, or Financial Affairs are encouraged to apply.
The Chairperson will be responsible for setting the agenda, style, and tone of Board discussions to promote effective decision-making and constructive debate. They will also oversee the effective running of Board Committees, establish relationships of trust with stakeholders, and be mindful of risk management strategies. The ideal candidate will be a diplomat and effective champion for the client, promoting its reputation and ensuring its success in the arts and culture sector.
