The client is seeking to recruit a new Chair to help influence and shape its direction and future success. This is an opportunity to support the embedding of a Patient First Improvement System and the achievement of core objectives, including seeing patients sooner, improving patient experience, saving lives and improving patient safety, becoming a great place to work, and using resources wisely. The client’s current priorities include collaborative transformation work to enhance emergency and planned care services, advance major digital transformation linking patient records across relevant regions, and improve patients’ access to and experience of healthcare services.
As Chair, you will navigate The client through a changing operating environment by working collaboratively with partners across community and primary care to build integrated service models that improve quality, access, and patient experience, while ensuring the continued delivery of consistently high-quality core acute services. You will work closely with the Chief Executive, chair an effective unitary Board, lead the Council of Governors, and act as a visible and trusted ambassador for The client, helping ensure strong foundations for effective and influential partnership across the wider system.
The successful candidate will bring a demonstrable track record of achievement gained as an Executive or Non-Executive Director at Board level, with effective communication and influencing skills. You are expected to share a commitment to delivering high-quality services for the communities served and to contribute to a stronger, more connected health system.
