Description

The client is seeking a CFO/Head of Finance to join a well-established midsize specialty retail and franchise network. The position entails full responsibility for financial affairs, including controlling, payroll, receivables management, and invoice auditing while overseeing and developing a team of approximately 100 employees. The role involves acting as a sparring partner to the executive management on financial matters, contributing to strategic initiatives, and driving organizational advancement. Responsibilities include financial and accounting oversight, preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, consolidation, reporting, and enhancement of financial planning systems such as income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow management tools to support business decisions.

The CFO will also be responsible for managing financing, banking relationships, and treasury operations, including liquidity planning and working capital management. The role requires developing organizational processes and systems to further professionalize financial functions and supporting investment projects, company valuations, and M&A transactions. An important component of the job is the establishment and enhancement of a structured tax and governance framework and managing external tax advisors to ensure compliance. Candidates should possess extensive experience in a senior financial role, majoring in areas such as accounting, controlling, treasury, and financing, with a solid educational background in economics or an equivalent field. Familiarity with HGB and IFRS is ideal, alongside proficiency in integrated financial planning, controlling, and management reporting.

The successful candidate will demonstrate strong leadership abilities, strategic thinking, and entrepreneurial acumen, capable of communicating complex issues clearly to various stakeholders. Experience in managing large teams and complex organizational structures is also important.
