Leading a team of approximately 20 individuals, the CEO will oversee efforts to strengthen the economy by creating jobs, retaining intellectual property in Canada, attracting investment capital, and supporting small- to medium-sized businesses in key sectors. Managing relationships with various stakeholders, including the public, government, media, private sector, and partner organizations, will be crucial for the organization's success. Collaboration with the CIO, who is responsible for investment strategy and decisions, will be a key aspect of the CEO's role in guiding the strategic direction and day-to-day operations.The CEO will work closely with the CIO to ensure alignment between overall organizational goals and investment decisions, with the CIO having autonomy over fund investments supported by the investment committee. Building a strong partnership with the CIO, the CEO will play a critical role in driving success by effectively managing relationships and ensuring stakeholders understand the organization's mandate, strategy, and value proposition. With a focus on economic growth and investment in key sectors such as technology, life sciences, defense, and emerging industries, the CEO will lead efforts to create a positive impact on the economy through job creation and investment in small- to medium-sized businesses.
