It publishes a quarterly flagship print magazine and maintains an active online presence with new writing appearing daily, alongside events and workshops for subscribers and the broader public.
the client is seeking a visionary and strategic CEO/Editor-in-Chief to lead the evolution of its editorial platform and mission in a time of societal and communal change. Reporting to the Board of Directors, the CEO/Editor-in-Chief will advance the organization’s mission while managing editorial vision, operations, fundraising, finances, and external relationships, serving as a connector, communicator, and champion grounded in the cultural and communal currents shaping Jewish life and feminism.
Key responsibilities include setting the vision for the publication’s next chapter; overseeing and stewarding editorial direction across print, digital, and emerging platforms; expanding reach by engaging audiences across campuses, online, and community spaces; supporting innovation in content and audience engagement while maintaining editorial excellence and integrity; and representing the publication as a public voice and thought leader. The role also includes leading and expanding subscriber and public programs (including a year-long emerging writers program, writing workshops, and a network of salons), serving as chief fundraiser by cultivating relationships with individual donors and foundations and building new partnerships, and providing organizational and team leadership through day-to-day oversight of operations, finance, and compliance, with an emphasis on clarity, alignment, accountability, and a purpose-driven workplace.
