The Campus Police Chief is responsible for overseeing all services provided by the Campus Public Safety Office, with a focus on implementing 21st Century community policing practices. This role requires a collaborative leader who can work closely with faculty, staff, and students to create a sense of community on a modern urban university campus. Reporting to the Associate Vice President of Risk, the Police Chief plays a key role in maintaining a safe and welcoming environment through the management of police officers, public safety officers, dispatchers, and physical safety personnel.In addition to overseeing day-to-day operations, the Campus Police Chief will be responsible for supervising approximately 30 employees, some of whom are represented by a police union. The ideal candidate for this position will have a strong vision for the future of campus safety and the ability to effectively lead a diverse team.
