The client is seeking a Business Unit Quality Director to provide leadership and direction for site Quality Managers and teams. In this role, you will partner with site leadership to ensure consistent quality practices and accountability across all locations within the business unit, with a focus on delivering strong external and internal defect performance and overall customer quality results.
Key responsibilities include leading quality performance across the business unit, driving defect prevention through the integration of quality into daily production processes, and ensuring disciplined responses to customer complaints, escalations, and warranty issues. You will lead root-cause problem solving using structured methodologies to eliminate systemic issues, ensure effective execution of enterprise quality management system (QMS) standards at the plant level (including audits, document control, and CAPA), and provide feedback on system improvements with the Director of Quality Systems.
You will also collaborate across functions to improve incoming material quality and supplier performance, monitor and analyze quality data to identify trends and risks, and support continuous improvement initiatives across the business unit. The client expects a bachelor’s degree in engineering, quality, or a related field (with a master’s preferred), along with extensive manufacturing quality leadership experience, including experience leading quality across multiple sites in a matrix environment; automotive or HVAC (or similar) manufacturing experience is preferred. Strong operational quality improvement experience, Lean quality knowledge, structured root-cause expertise, and the ability to influence cross-functional teams are essential.
