the client is seeking a Business Unit Director to lead operations for a US business unit within an international manufacturing company that produces polymer-based packaging for the pharmaceutical industry. The role will head production and production management, purchasing, sales, quality control, and human resource management, with an expectation of understanding GMP and regulatory affairs relevant to the pharmaceutical industry.
Key responsibilities include managing end-to-end operations covering sales, purchasing, quality control, production, production planning, and workforce management. The director will focus on improving organizational profitability and maintaining a strong reputation, coordinating cross-department activities toward shared business goals, and developing a business plan with ongoing execution and performance analysis. The role will also include cost management for manufacturing activities and developing and maintaining management information systems on a periodic basis.
The ideal profile includes experience from a plastic molding or production/manufacturing environment or from business development/distribution experience connected to the pharmaceutical industry. The position is expected to bring substantial relevant experience in polymers or plastic molding production, or a comparable duration of business development experience in the pharmaceutical industry, and prior leadership experience in roles such as business unit director, executive director, managing director, or general manager may be advantageous.
