The client is seeking a Business Development Director to support market development services for US-based licensees importing branded apples into the North American market. The role focuses on building value across the supply chain for importers and their retail customers through strategic planning and brand and trade marketing campaign development. The Director will also deliver compelling presentations to retail buyers.
Key responsibilities include developing and implementing strategic plans to grow the brand in North America, building and maintaining relationships with licensees, importers, and retail customers, and developing and executing brand and trade marketing campaigns. The Director will present the benefits of the client’s network and brand to retail buyers and will partner with US-based exporters to identify and capitalize on opportunities across Latin America, Asia, and the Middle East, collaborating with teams in these emerging markets to support business growth.
The ideal candidate is an entrepreneurial contractor with experience managing other consumer brands and a strong understanding of what fresh produce retailers require to drive profitable outcomes across the supply chain. Proficiency in English is required, with Spanish language skills or a Latin American background as a plus. The role calls for excellent communication and presentation skills, proven ability to develop strategic and business plans, strong problem-solving and leadership capabilities, and a willingness to travel as required, with a preference for candidates based in Washington State, California, or New York State.
