Description

The client is searching for a Director of Build, Own & Operate (BOO) - North America to spearhead the development and commercialization of complex industrial water and critical minerals projects, guiding them from initial concept to financial completion. This strategic role will involve shaping the client's long-term BOO/BOOT strategy across the region and collaborating closely with senior leadership, investors, and strategic partners. Key responsibilities entail identifying opportunities in areas such as water reuse, desalination, and critical minerals recovery, managing a sales funnel of promising projects, and converting these into viable projects by securing necessary agreements and conducting comprehensive feasibility studies.

In addition to effectively preparing project proposals and presentations, the successful candidate will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to validate design assumptions and manage permitting efforts with various federal and state agencies. They will also lead negotiations with contractors and providers while engaging with financial entities to secure project financing. Ensuring compliance with ESG standards is crucial to attract sustainable investments. Developing relationships with government bodies, partners, and financial entities is a key aspect of this role to successfully structure financing deals and support due diligence processes.

Qualified candidates should possess at least 15 years of experience in infrastructure project development within sectors such as water, mining, energy, and renewable energy. A bachelor's degree in civil or environmental engineering, finance, or a related field is required, with an MBA being preferable. The ideal candidate will have proficiency in financial modeling, an understanding of project finance structures, and familiarity with CRM tools. The role offers an opportunity to contribute to building a new platform supported by significant executive investment and influence projects pivotal to sustainability and the energy transition in high-growth sectors.
