Description

We are looking for qualified candidates with expertise in mental health clinical governance to join the Board of Trustees.

The role is voluntary, and candidates should ideally be based in the West of Ireland to facilitate engagement with management and attend periodic in-person Board meetings.

The client provides a variety of accessible mental health services, including online and in-person counselling, in Galway and Mayo.

In 2024, they delivered over 9,000 counselling sessions across various areas such as addiction, bereavement, and youth counselling, in addition to providing play and art therapy.

Board members, who will become Company Directors, are expected to contribute their expertise and participate actively in monthly board meetings, held both in person in Galway and remotely.

They should also engage in committees and strategic assignments to foster effective operations and relationships within the Board.

Essential qualifications include being a qualified and accredited counsellor, psychotherapist, or psychologist, with at least five years of clinical practice experience.

Experience or a background in the mental health service delivery, particularly in non-profit or community settings, is preferred.

The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting and overseeing the continuous quality improvement of the client's services, ensuring that clinical policies and procedures comply with legal and ethical standards.

They will also advise the board and management on clinical governance issues and serve as a deputy in certain roles when necessary.
