We are seeking qualified candidates in the West of Ireland to join the board of a mental health service provider. This client offers accessible mental health services, including online and in-person counselling, delivered by professional counsellors.
The client, which conducted over 7,000 counselling sessions in 2023 under various specialties, is looking to expand its Board of Directors. The roles on the Board are voluntary, requiring board members to attend meetings both in-person in Galway and remotely. Board members are expected to participate in committees, contribute their expertise, and foster effective relationships with other Board members to ensure successful Board operations.
Candidates with a background in Financial Control or Accountancy are particularly needed to complement the existing Board of Trustees. While prior experience as a Treasurer is not obligatory, it is advantageous, and a willingness to assume the role of Company Secretary is preferred. The role involves providing guidance and mentorship on financial matters to the client's management and Board.
Additionally, the successful candidate will join the Board Finance, Governance, Risk & Remuneration sub-committee, offering crucial insights into the clients financial dealings. Specific responsibilities for the role include supporting the preparation of financial statements, monitoring organizational and financial performance against budgets, and ensuring financial records are audited in line with the date of the Annual General Meeting.
The client seeks someone who can commit to the responsibilities detailed above, helping strengthen the client's governance and financial oversight.
