The client is seeking a Board Trustee with experience in accounting, financial control, or company secretary roles to join its Board of Directors.
This opportunity is voluntary, unpaid, and based in Ireland, specifically targeting candidates located in the West of Ireland.
The role involves facilitating engagement with management and attending periodic in-person Board meetings in Galway, alongside remote meetings.
Responsibilities include acting as a Director, engaging actively in Board meetings ten times a year, attending the AGM, and participating in strategic assignments.
The candidate should build effective relationships with other Board Members to ensure the Board's successful operation.
The ideal candidate should have a background in financial control or accountancy to strengthen the expertise of the current Board of Trustees.
While prior experience as a Treasurer is advantageous, a willingness to assume the role of Company Secretary is particularly valued.
Beyond general Board duties, the candidate is expected to provide guidance and mentoring on financial matters to the client's management and Board.
Participation in the Board Finance, Governance, Risk & Remuneration sub-committee is also a requirement, with responsibilities including guiding the preparation of financial statements and ensuring they meet targets and budgets.
The responsibilities of the position further entail supporting management, staff, and external accountants in preparing the client's financial statements.
The Trustee will also oversee the monitoring, reviewing, and approval of organizational and financial performances against targets and budgets.
The role includes ensuring that financial records are subject to appropriate audits in alignment with the AGM schedule.
