The client is seeking qualified candidates with expertise in accounting, financial control, or company secretary skills to join its Board of Trustees.
This voluntary and unpaid position requires candidates located in the West of Ireland to facilitate engagement with management and attend periodic in-person board meetings.
The client provides a range of mental health services, including in-person and online counselling, with over 7,000 sessions delivered in areas such as couples, youth, addiction, bereavement, general counselling, play, and art therapy in 2023.
The board aims to expand and further its mission by bringing in individuals who can contribute their knowledge and skills effectively.
The board roles entail becoming a director of the company and are expected to participate actively, both in-person and remotely throughout the year.
Board members are involved in committees and engage in strategic tasks to ensure effective governance.
The ideal candidate will have a background in financial control or accountancy and may consider undertaking the role of company secretary.
Although previous treasurer experience is beneficial, it is not mandatory.
Importantly, candidates will contribute to building relationships among board members to facilitate the board's successful operation.
The responsibilities include supporting the clients financial management by overseeing the preparation of financial statements and guiding financial performance against targets and budgets.
The successful candidate will also join the Board Finance, Governance, Risk, and Remuneration sub-committee, offering mentoring and guidance to the charitys management on financial matters.
Ensuring the clients financial records are appropriately audited in line with the Annual General Meeting is a crucial part of the role, along with actively participating in meetings and contributing to the clients strategic objectives.
