The client is seeking a board member to support strong corporate governance and help guide its strategic direction. Key responsibilities include providing input to strategy, advising on financial sustainability, reserves, and long-term financial planning, and ensuring alignment with the organisation’s governing document. The role will also involve attending occasional events, training, and seminars.
Candidates should have a recognised accounting qualification or significant senior financial management experience. Experience in financial reporting, budgeting, audit, or risk management is required, along with strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret and communicate financial information clearly. An understanding of governance and financial oversight is also expected, as is a commitment to supporting the organisation’s work and values.
Time commitment includes attending approximately five meetings each year, typically online in the evening after 7pm, with advance review of meeting papers. The board member may also provide occasional advice between meetings, particularly during budgeting and audit periods, and will participate in an interview process following submission of an Expression of Interest and CV.
