The client is seeking a board member who will help ensure effective governance through active participation in strategic planning. The role involves supporting the development, implementation, and monitoring of organizational goals, and contributing to ongoing oversight to help the organization stay aligned with its mission.
A key responsibility is to support the organization’s financial sustainability. This includes helping secure adequate ongoing donations and other financial resources to enable the organization to fulfill its mission, as well as supporting efforts to communicate the organization’s mission, accomplishments, and goals to the public to strengthen community support.
The client also expects board members to help build board capacity by articulating candidate prerequisites, orienting new members, and participating in periodic, comprehensive evaluations of board performance. In addition, board members will provide moral and professional support to the Executive Director and staff as they work to advance the organization’s goals.
