The client is seeking new board members to begin their service in January 2027. Candidates should reside in the Pittsburgh region and be able to commit to a three-year term with the opportunity to extend for an additional three years. Board members are expected to attend approximately five in-person board meetings per year (each lasting about two hours) and participate in one board and staff retreat (about four hours).
Board members will also serve on at least one committee, typically requiring about one hour per month of meeting time, with a preference for roles on the Finance or Governance committee. In addition, they are expected to volunteer and/or attend at least two organizational events and demonstrate willingness to support the organization’s mission through meaningful financial contributions. Comfort with fundraising and promoting the organization’s mission and events is also expected.
The client is looking for candidates with a demonstrated commitment to good governance, along with prior board experience and/or nonprofit management experience. Key areas of interest include finance and fundraising capabilities, as well as design thinking and evaluation, and relevant IT/technology expertise. Candidates should be prepared to contribute to strategic oversight, committee work, and ongoing organizational efforts aligned with these strengths.
