Board members provide behind-the-scenes leadership that enables the organization’s creative teams to make strong creative decisions, ensuring they have the resources, structure, and institutional support to do that work well. The role involves providing financial oversight and supporting long-term organizational sustainability, contributing professional skills to real organizational needs, and serving as an ambassador within community and professional networks.
Board members support fundraising by contributing personally at a meaningful level, helping open doors to others, and participating in fundraising efforts. They attend monthly board meetings, participate in at least one committee, and attend events throughout the year to stay connected to the work the organization supports.
The role focuses on strengthening key board priorities, including advancement and fundraising, strategic planning and organizational growth, community outreach and partnerships, marketing and public relations, and human resources and organizational leadership. Candidates are expected to be comfortable with governance responsibilities such as policy, planning, and fiduciary oversight, bring a community-oriented mindset with an interest in the local arts ecosystem, collaborate effectively and follow through on commitments, and be able to commit to a two-year term.
