The client is seeking committed individuals to serve on its Board of Directors. Board Members play a crucial role in providing mission-driven leadership, fiduciary oversight, and advocacy for the organization in the community. Responsibilities include upholding the client's mission and values, participating in strategic planning, fulfilling governance duties, and actively engaging in fundraising and resource development efforts. Board Members also serve as ambassadors for the client, advocating for its work with stakeholders, community leaders, and elected officials.
Ideal candidates for the Board Member position will have a passion for social and economic justice, community service, and nonprofit leadership. They should possess professional expertise in areas such as finance, law, fundraising, education, or public health. While previous experience serving on a nonprofit board is preferred, it is not required. Board Members are expected to adhere to the client's bylaws, code of ethics, and conflict-of-interest policies, maintain confidentiality, and demonstrate leadership grounded in service, collaboration, and the organization's values of Opportunity, Transformation, and Hope.
In addition to attending and actively participating in board meetings and events, Board Members are encouraged to support and provide strategic guidance to the President & CEO. They should work collaboratively with other board members and the Leadership Team to advance the client's mission and strategic direction.
