The client is seeking new members to join its Board of Directors. Board members serve two-year terms and take an active role in guiding the organization’s strategy, financial health, and community presence, while supporting a mission centered on ecological restoration and hands-on community engagement.
Board members are expected to attend board meetings, serve actively on at least one standing committee, and contribute an average of about 4 hours per month of personal time. They should be willing to take on leadership roles as needed, be prepared to learn basic goat herd care in order to support staff when needed, and make a personally significant annual financial contribution to The client.
Candidates should have genuine passion for The client’s mission and a drive to increase visibility across the region, along with reliable attendance and active participation in board and committee meetings. Responsiveness to board and staff communications (within two business days) is expected, as is enthusiasm for fundraising, including building partnerships, identifying prospective supporters, and rallying others behind campaigns; board service also includes supporting efforts to recruit volunteers and future board members. Collectively, the board sets short- and long-term goals, establishes policy and oversees program delivery, safeguards financial stability, brings in outside expertise through task or ad hoc committees as needed, and develops and oversees personnel policy.
