The client, a nonprofit art center on Pittsburghs South Side, offers a creative space for individuals to engage with the arts.
The client supports creatives by providing an environment conducive to invention, creation, and collaboration. Their facilities, programs, and community encourage artistic excellence.
To further their mission, the client is seeking dedicated and enthusiastic volunteers to join their Board of Directors. Board members play a critical role as decision-makers and ambassadors, leading the oversight and execution of the client's Strategic Plan.
It is vital for potential board members to align with the client's values, which focus on arts and community building.
Board members have several responsibilities, including attending board meetings every other month and participating in committee meetings during alternate months as needed. Most meetings occur via video conferencing, with occasional in-person gatherings.
The term for board members is three years, with a maximum of two terms. The expected time commitment ranges from 3-8 hours per month. Furthermore, board members should contribute financially in a personally meaningful way and act as advocates for the client in various settings.
The ideal candidates for the board are those who demonstrate enthusiastic interest and commitment. Special consideration will be given to candidates with expertise in legal matters, human resources, fundraising, marketing, or those residing in the South Side, professional artists, or those engaged in arts on a national scale.
Experience serving on a nonprofit board is desirable but not mandatory. The client particularly encourages applications from underrepresented groups, including people of color, individuals with disabilities, bilingual speakers, and members of the LGBTQ+ community.
