We are seeking a Board Member with charity partnerships expertise to support The client in achieving sustainable growth and strengthening its strategy. The Board Member will provide strategic guidance to help ensure economic sustainability and uphold strong governance, acting collectively in the best interests of The client while supporting and constructively challenging the executive team.
Key responsibilities include advising on and supporting the development of a sustainable future strategy; providing expertise on engagement, grants, and diversified partnerships; leveraging professional networks to identify opportunities and partnerships; and supporting oversight of fundraising performance and targets. The Board Member will also serve as an ambassador for The client with potential stakeholders.
The person specification includes proven experience in fundraising, such as philanthropy, grants, and corporate partnerships, along with strong strategic thinking and financial awareness. The role typically suits individuals with experience in non-profit or social impact sectors and knowledge of Irish or UK funding landscapes, plus previous board-level or governance experience. The Board Member is expected to attend Board meetings typically 4–6 times per year and participate in occasional strategy sessions or subcommittees related to areas such as governance and risk, strategy and purpose, and finance, with an initial three-year appointment term.
