The client is seeking committed new board members to provide strategic direction, strong governance, and oversight as it continues its work across the Canal Communities area. This voluntary governance role is an opportunity to contribute to supporting young people and strengthening local communities through effective leadership and responsible decision-making.
Applicants are especially encouraged to bring experience in one or more areas, such as governance and strategic planning; finance, accounting, or fundraising; human resources and organisational development; youth work, community development, or education; communications, marketing, or public relations; and legal, compliance, or risk management. Previous board experience may be helpful, and The client values diverse perspectives, including candidates with a range of professional, community, and lived experiences.
Board members are expected to attend approximately 80% of board meetings, with seven board meetings per year. The role typically involves around three hours of work between meetings, including preparation, follow-up, and agreed board-related tasks.
