The client is a not-for-profit community organization based in Galway, committed to making gymnastics accessible to all and supporting participation, inclusion, and community through high-quality experiences at every level. the role is for a volunteer Board Member who will act in the best interests of The client and not for personal gain, help protect and promote the organization’s reputation, integrity, and sustainability, and contribute to good governance, strategic oversight, and effective decision-making.
the Board Member will join The client’s volunteer Board of Directors to help shape strategic direction and provide oversight to ensure the organization continues to deliver on its mission in a sustainable, well-governed, community-focused way. Key responsibilities include contributing to board discussions, decisions, and strategic planning; providing oversight on club matters in the best interests of the organization; supporting the Board in maintaining strong governance, policies, and standards; and bringing experience, judgment, and constructive challenge to matters affecting the organization.
the role involves attending board meetings and completing agreed follow-up actions. Board meetings are held once a month, in person or online, typically in the evening; when conducted in person, they take place at the organization’s facility in Briarhill, Galway.
