The client is an artist-led organization supporting contemporary visual artists through affordable studio provision, professional development, and public programming. It operates major studio buildings in Dublin and works with local authorities and public partners. The client is establishing a governance structure to support long-term operation of publicly owned buildings, strengthen governance, and position the organization for sustainable public funding.
The client seeks committed individuals to join its Board of Directors in a non-executive, voluntary capacity. This role provides governance, strategic oversight, and support for long-term sustainability, including safeguarding public benefit and guiding the organization through its next phase of development. Board directors are expected to contribute to strategic direction, provide oversight of governance, finance, and organizational risk, act in the best interests of the organization and its public benefit mission, support and appropriately challenge executive leadership, ensure compliance with legal and regulatory obligations, and uphold the organization’s values and artist-led ethos.
Applicants may bring experience or interest in areas such as governance and board experience, finance/accounting/audit, legal or compliance, property/estates/facilities management, public sector or local authority experience, arts/culture/creative industries, and community engagement, access, or inclusion. The role does not involve day-to-day operations, staff management, or artistic programming. The time commitment is approximately four board meetings per year, with occasional additional meetings or working sessions, including preparation and review of materials in advance; directors are appointed for a fixed term of two years with possible renewal.
