It provides lifelong home and community-based services for children and adults with disabilities, helping individuals and families plan for their futures through advocacy, information and referral, early intervention, employment, community participation, community living, and family support.
the client advances its mission through a range of services, including individual and systemic advocacy; information and referral to navigate education, medical, government, and adult service systems; evidence-based early intervention and parenting support; individualized employment assistance and consultation for workforce needs; community living with personalized residential and in-home supports; housing tenancy resources to help locate and maintain accessible, cost-effective housing; community participation support to promote inclusion and skill-building; and special needs trusts to help protect assets while maintaining eligibility for key public supports. additional supports include benefits counseling designed to help maximize employment income while maintaining access to government benefits.
The client also supports broader community impact through initiatives such as assisting litigation to secure educational rights for students with disabilities and supporting legal efforts related to special needs trusts, as well as work contributing to the elimination of subminimum wage practices for employees with disabilities. The role will support delivery of person-centered services across the client’s network and may involve coordination of advocacy and service programming that enables inclusive community participation, employment, and residential support, with headquarters and satellite presence in the western Pennsylvania region.
