the client is offering 360° search solutions for participants in global commodity markets. The client is partnering with a leading commodities trading company that is expanding operations into Switzerland and is seeking an experienced base oil trader to support the growth of its trading division.
The base oil trader will be responsible for executing and managing physical trading activities across global markets while maintaining an existing European business. The role includes developing and maintaining relationships with key suppliers, refineries, and customers; monitoring market trends, pricing movements, and regulatory changes to identify trading opportunities; and managing risk exposure across market, credit, and operational categories through appropriate hedging strategies. The trader will also collaborate with senior leadership to develop and implement regional strategy for base oil trading.
Candidates should have proven experience in base oil trading across European or global markets, ideally with familiarity in Monaco or surrounding regions, and a strong track record of managing physical back-to-back base oil trading as well as related financial instruments. The role expects expertise in risk management and exposure management, demonstrated analytical ability to assess market trends, and the ability to execute trades in a fast-paced environment, alongside existing industry relationships with producers, refineries, and buyers.
