The client is seeking a Bank Lending Compliance Officer for the greater Austin, TX market. This role supports a risk-based compliance function focused on lending and related business lines by performing quality control reviews, analyzing and reporting on applicable banking regulations, and helping identify potential regulatory compliance weaknesses to ensure products and operations align with state, federal, and other regulatory requirements.
Key responsibilities include assisting with the development and growth of the Compliance Program with emphasis on BSA, Security, and Internal Audit procedures and policies, including audit activities related to loan files, security, and cash. The officer will research and apply federal and state banking laws and regulations, maintain a compliance monitoring program and provide relevant information to the Board of Directors or the appropriate committee, and support the development of regulatory disclosures and procedures for new products and services. The position also involves supervising records retention and disposal efforts, developing and delivering regulatory training modules, and serving as a point of contact for compliance-related customer complaints and inquiries.
The ideal candidate will maintain a strong, current understanding of money laundering and terrorist financing risks, including related policies, procedures, regulations, industry best practices, and developing trends. Qualifications include a Bachelor’s Degree and two or more years of experience in legal/regulatory compliance for banking laws and regulations or related experience; a CRCM designation is preferred. The role requires the ability to identify and define problems, research and analyze information, recommend alternatives or solutions, demonstrate strong written and verbal communication skills, and apply general accounting principles with working knowledge of complex database systems.
