the client is seeking a Bank Controller to help maintain the integrity of accounting operations. The role focuses on accurate reporting and record-keeping, developing controls and budgets to mitigate risk, and ensuring compliant financial results. The selected candidate will work closely with internal stakeholders, demonstrating strong interpersonal skills and business acumen, and will report directly to the Chief Financial Officer.
Key responsibilities include overseeing daily general ledger analysis, reporting, and reconciliations; producing periodic financial reports for daily, monthly, and annual monitoring; maintaining accounting records with comprehensive controls and budgets; and ensuring results comply with generally accepted accounting principles and reporting standards. The role also supports forecasting of financial performance and explanations for variances in fees and operating expenses to budget, prepares and files the Bank’s call report and other regulatory and financial statements by established deadlines, and completes interest rate risk analysis and reporting.
Additional duties include overseeing month-, quarter-, and year-end close; supporting annual FDIC and other agency audits; overseeing payroll, accounts payable, and investment functions; managing holding company financial activity and related statements, shareholder correspondence, regulatory reporting, and tax filings; and supervising finance department staff as assigned. The position may also involve project management related to finance operations and other assignments directed by the CFO and President, along with working with department managers to create procedures that support effective and efficient use and maintenance of accounting systems, while ensuring compliance with established bank guidelines, policies, and procedures.
