Client seeks a Remote Bank Controller (Contract) to support the integrity of accounting operations for a bank, including accurate reporting and record-keeping, and the development of controls and budgets to mitigate risk. The role is expected to demonstrate strong interpersonal skills and business acumen, and will report directly to the Chief Financial Officer, requiring high professional capability.
Key responsibilities include overseeing daily general ledger analysis, reporting, and reconciliations; producing periodic financial reports for internal monitoring across daily, monthly, and annual cycles; maintaining accounting records and a comprehensive system of controls and budgets; ensuring compliance with generally accepted accounting principles and applicable reporting standards; forecasting financial performance and explaining budget variances related to fees and operating expenses; preparing and filing required call reports and other regulatory and financial reports by established deadlines; and completing interest rate risk analysis and reporting.
The role also will support month-, quarter-, and year-end close, contribute to annual FDIC and other agency audits, and oversee functions such as payroll, accounts payable, and investment activities. Additional duties may include managing holding company financial activity and statements, shareholder correspondence, regulatory reporting, and tax filings; supervising finance department staff as assigned; and performing finance-related project management and other tasks directed by the CFO and President, while ensuring adherence to established guidelines, policies, and procedures and partnering with department managers to maintain effective accounting systems.
